Ernie, Riley & Summer

This image is of three Connemara pony siblings on the Cumbrian fells. Four year old Ernie, one year old Riley, and 2023 born filly Summer are all by the mare Ballyerk Candy (or 'Andi' as we call her). This little family are part of our larger herd of ponies but they are definitely a tight unit within it and are often found near to each other within the herd. And especially close to Andi - Summer has not been weaned yet and is still nursing from her dam, and Ernie and Riley are both big mummy's boys!

Ernie is by the stallion Ballyerk Hans, and he and Andi were brought over from Ireland together when Ernie was just a scraggly little foal. Riley and Summer are both by the stallion Glencarrig Patrick, and were born in Cumbria. Riley was actually born out on the fells, so he is a true pony of the hills!
