Katie

This photo is of Oxview Katie, a Connemara mare who was two years old at the time. Katie was born in Ireland and was brought over to the UK when she was a few months old, alongside her mother, Rathcoona Mary. Mary was in foal, carrying Katie's full brother. The colt foal was born in April 2020 and subsequently named 'Ellathwaite Captain Tom'. Katie and Tom are by the stallion Maecon Boy; he has many offspring on the ground and is a good producer of jumping ponies by all reports! Katie is bright and easy to work with, confident, friendly and just takes everything in her stride. Though she can be a bit bossy - just like her mother! She is now a grown up pony, in a ridden career, and this photo is a beautiful reminder of her life as a youngster on the fell.
