Ernie

This picture is of Ernie, a four year old Connemara gelding. Ernie was born in Ireland and came to the UK with his mother when he was just a couple of months old. Ernie is by the stallion Ballyerk Hans and out of the mare Ballyerk Candy, whom we call Andi. At the time of this picture Ernie was the oldest of the boys in the herd and would sometimes lean towards taking the stallions role of watching over everyone else, just like he is doing in the photo. However it is always the mares that rule the herd and Ernie would move swiftly out of the way if any mares told him to!
